A tribute to Angela Davis, Black Panther and member of the US Communist Party who was bogusly accused of homocide and placed 1st on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives List, later captured and detained to silence her anti-capitalist and anti-racist protests, only to be aquitted of all charges 18 months later.
Huey P. Newton, co-founder and figurehead of the Black Panthers, a civil rights and political equality movement, was bogusly accused of murdering a police officer and was convicted to 2-15 years of imprisonment, until in May, 1940 the decision was finally reversed.
Angela Davis is currently Professor of History of Consciousness at the University of California and Presidential Chair at the University of California, Santa Cruz where she works for racial and gender equality and for prison abolition.
